Shame will silence you.
Shame will steal from you.
Shame will cause you to feel INVISIBLE.
BUT...You can take back your power from shame. Today I will share with you three ways you can begin to take the power that shame has over you.
Shame comes by way of your experiences. Those experiences that involved you being a victim, you making a choice that victimized you or how you were made to feel.
Shame silences the woman you are and the woman you are to become. Based on the experiences you have had, you can become controlled by shame in how you see yourself. Your vision of yourself is hidden by an act or words that have taken root within you. It will limit you. It will silence you. It will cause you to feel Invisible to yourself and others. In doing so, you feel insecure and you lose your ability to speak up for yourself in any way.
When you are ready to regain or gain control in the areas of your life where shame has controlled you, You can do 3 things:
1. Identify the experience in your life (created by you or others) that you feel shame about
2. Ask yourself, "How would my life be different if I began to speak about this experience and stop hiding it?"
3. Begin to work through the process of how the experience changed you, deal with the emotions it caused in you and begin to tell yourself a new truth about that experience for now and in the future.
BONUS: Begin to forgive those who brought shame and forgive YOURSELF
It is important that you take control over how your past shows up in your life. It will control you until you decide to control your OWN life by redefining yourself regardless of what you have been through.
