Wheww! What a morning walk it was! Let me tell you, there's something magical about working out—it clears my mind, and guess what? I can hear God loud and clear! My life is changing, and I realized something crucial, but I want to know if you feel the same way as you read on. As I was walking this morning, I heard these words, "Aren't you tired of being afraid? I heard it a second time and that is when I acknowledged what I was hearing. The truth is, Yes, I am tired of being afraid.
Fear is crippling and can be so slick in how it shows up. I realize that God already knew the answer when He asked the question, "Aren't you tired of being of afraid?" I have realized that with each disappointment, I was fearful of stepping forward out of fear, and my heart would be disappointed again.
This question got my attention and I listened. Fear has to take a backseat in order for us to live full out, take another step, write the book, start the business and walk in purpose.
Aren't you tired of being afraid? Okay, okay, maybe you're like, "Lynette, fear's got nothing on me!" Well, hey, that's fantastic—high five to you! But let me spill the beans: fear often sneaks in disguised as something else, and we might not even notice it.
Think about it:
- Procrastination, that's fear.
- A busy mind, fear again!
- Indecision, yep, fear at play.
- Overthinking, fear loves that too.
- And not trusting yourself or your decisions—ding, ding, fear alert!
Do any of these ring a bell with you? I'm not pointing fingers, but I encourage you to take a good look at where you are in life right now. Are you living your truth, your purpose? Or maybe fear is holding you back from writing that book, starting that business, or doing what brings you joy. Heck, maybe fear is stopping you from making any decisions at all!
But here's the thing, my friend: facing fear isn't weak; it's brave. When you acknowledge and own fear in your life, you've already taken the first step to conquer it. It's time to #ActivateYourTruth!
So, where do you need to be bold in the face of fear? Identify it. Acknowledge it. Dig deep and find the root cause. Then, every single day, take intentional steps to kick fear's butt! Sounds simple? Well, truth be told, it's not that easy, but guess what? It can be done!
Start with one area of your life and begin to unpack the fear. Fear is the result of something and that's why like anything else you have to get to the root in order to overcome it. Fear will always be there in some form or fashion but it doesn't have to be in control and stop you in your tracks.
So my question to you is the question I heard for myself, "Aren't you tired of being afraid?"
