***I apologize for the sound in the mic on the recording
Pearl is a Retired Educator, Wife, Mother, and child of GOD. Pearl was reared in a small rural Florida community that she believed gave her everything she needed to live a productive life. That is until December 1, 2015. On Dec. 1st neither her education, her top-level administrative position, or her six-figure income could help her. It was that day that she was given an assignment that no mother should ever have to face. While sitting in her office she was asked to take a call from her husband. The words she heard was, Pearl he’s gone. You see, on that day she was told that her son, her only child passed.
During our conversation, Pearl talks about:
4:44 The life-changing moment
12:40 "I don't have to stay where I live and I call that the renting phase"
19:29 "When we deny as believers, our love and our feelings, I believe that we are denying who God made us to be"
23:21 "God said, you need to pick up the pen because you are not dealing with it"
28:39 "I started it the "ITS" of life"
29:16 "Whatever the "ITS" of your life is, life is a journey, and if you face "IT" you can triumph over the tragedy that hits you"

Death is never easy. The loss of a child is heartbreaking. I lost my baby shortly after birth many years ago. Being able to share with another mother who has experienced pain that is unimaginable was very therapeutic. Sometimes in this situation, when you are a person of faith you are expected to handle things a certain way. If you don't, some will say you don't have faith. Faith carries you through painful moments but it doesn't say you have to pretend you aren't hurting. Grief is a process. It takes time to allow your heart to go through those steps. Whenever the heart hurts, it has to rebuild. I love how Pearl shared her process of grief, allowing God to help her face the pain and use the pain to help others through theirs.
